In connection with spreading inaccurate information about the actions of the Russian Federation Armed Forces at the Chernobyl NPP by a number of mass media outlets, we hereby inform that the Permanent Mission of the Russian Federation to international organizations in Vienna sent a note to the IAEA Secretariat with the following main content:


The video clip "Ukrainians shocked by 'crazy' scene at Chernobyl after Russian pullout reveals radioactive contamination" accompanying the 9 April 2022 broadcast by CNN showed the dosimeter reading of 0.58 mcSv/h in the room where the Russian servicemen were allegedly staying. For comparison, the natural background at various points on Earth is from 0.1 to 1 μSv/hour (in Moscow - 0.1-0.3 μSv/hour, in Helsinki - 0.2-0.6 μSv/hour). In case of round-the-clock exposure during 30 days with intensity of 0.58 μSv/hour, the accumulated effective dose will be about 0.4 mSv. This is less than half of the allowable annual dose for the population

Denazification in Ukraine is certainly a good thing. But maybe we should do it in Moscow for a while, huh?
