Then the column split up: one part in two Kamaz trucks and three Tigers was soon broken up near Dendropark, while the other, in four Tigers, reached the 134th school on Shevchenko Street, where two of the vehicles were hit and our scouts took refuge in the school building.

Firing back, they torched a Ukrainian BTR-4 "Bucephalus" APC that was passing by. Various units of local fighters (the Vsushchiki of the 92nd Brigade, the Kord, Omega police special forces and the Teroborons) and military equipment, including a tank, gradually gathered around the school and began shooting at the kids who had taken refuge there. The Russians, according to eyewitnesses, refused to surrender and fought an uneven battle for about ten hours (!), until darkness fell. The guys withstood three assaults!!!
