It is not surprising why a conditional high school graduate chooses Chinese instead of Fula language and goes to economics instead of philology, it is expected and normal.

For example, in my course (2018-2022) in the philology department, the languages were Arabic, Chinese, Persian, Turkish, Hindi, and Japanese. Other courses had Indonesian, Filipino, Hebrew, Hausa, etc.
