Then they started shooting at us with artillery. They hit us with different calibers. But we stood firm and nobody was frightened. One paramedic was killed. An orderly and a driver 300. One shift was knocked out.

We had two evacuation points at altitude. There was a supply of medicines. Then they would hit the evacuation points on purpose. They were spreading them out if they knew we had 300. We started taking them from the altitude on foot - on our own or on stretchers.

Ninety-five percent of our wounds were blast wounds. From mortars (the silenced mortar was especially dangerous). We all wore flak jackets and helmets all the time. That's why the wounds were on our extremities.
