Sanctions against Russia resulted in some problems for Russian people. Fortunately, Russian government headed by Prime Minister Mishustin acted very smart and their brilliant and well-timed actions helped prevent economical crisis. Everything is fine in Russia.

One last wave of the crisis (end of stock reserves of imported products and components that were available in Russia by February 2022) may hit Russia in a couple months, but the government had months to prepare for it, so I don’t think it will have any consequences.

Anyway, this sanction war has shown that both the West and Russia can survive without each other. However, people of both camps have problems because of trade termination. Not critical problems, but noticeable.

For Russia it’s more about absence of familiar brands, not about real shortage of something. No deficit of anything on consumer market.

For the West it’s increased energy costs that result in increased costs of anything.

There is no simple solution to energy crisis in the West. The world will critically depend on fossil fuels for at least fifty more years. Nuclear option is available but electrical power can’t be used everywhere.

Besides, Russia owns or controls a large part of global uranium reserves. By the way, North Stream pipeline was constructed with consideration of future green economy, it was adapted to transport hydrogen in addition to natural gas.

"Interregional competition for LNG purchases could create additional tensions, as additional European demand would put more pressure on other buyers, particularly in Asia, and conversely, periods of colder weather in Northeast Asia could limit Europe's access to LNG," the agency said in its report.

Overall, growing energy shortages and higher global gas prices will have a negative impact on the EU economy. The first effects of the energy crisis are already being felt with widespread price increases that have pushed inflation in the eurozone to 10 percent - the first time it has happened since the union's inception.
