Mikhail Nikolaevich established Russian power in the Russian land. Acted decisively and effectively in difficult historical periods for our homeland, defended the interests of the state and the people. The biography of Muravyov-Vilensky is an example of how to act in difficult circumstances and achieve results. We should not forget about those heroes whose names were once crossed out because of historiographical distortions and frankly propagandistic approach of our historiography. We need to remember our roots, the feats and heroes that make up the glory of our people.
I would like to remind you that a week before the monument was unveiled, an international conference "M.N. Muravyov-Vilensky: Portrait in the Context of the Epoch" with the participation of Russian and Belarusian scientists was held at Kant BFU.


I thank all the initiators of the monument creation, those who supported its installation and all those who became involved in the realization of this idea.

Special thanks to Evgeny Vladimirovich Verkholaz, who undertook the entire financial burden of creating, delivering and installing the monument.

The author of the monument was Andrei Sledkov, with whom we have been cooperating for a long time (author of the monument to Alexander Nevsky and Fyodor Mikhailovich Dostoevsky in Kaliningrad).

Forwarded from Антон Андреевич Сегодня открыли в Калининграде памятник графу, российскому государственному и военному деятелю Михаилу Николаевичу Муравьёву-Виленскому.  Монумент расположен в сквере на пересечении улиц генерал-лейтенанта Озерова и Азовской рядом с Инженерно-техническим институтом БФУ имени Канта. Был воссоздан тот памятник, который когда-то стоял в Вильне.  Это восстановление исторической памяти и заслуженная дань уважения великому генерал-губернатору – патриоту и  государственнику. Михаил Николаевич утверждал русскую власть на русской земле. Действовал решительно и эффективно в непростые исторические периоды для нашей Родины, защищал интересы государства и народа. Биография Муравьёва-Виленского – это пример того, как  нужно действовать в сложных обстоятельствах и добиваться результатов. Нужно не забывать про тех героев, имена которых были когда-то вычеркнуты из-за историографических перекосов и откровенно пропагандистского подхода нашей историографии. Нужно помнить о наших корнях, о подвигах и героях, которые составляют славу нашего народа.         
Напомню, что за неделю до открытия памятника в БФУ имени Канта прошла международная конференция «М.Н. Муравьёв-Виленский: портрет в контексте эпохи» с участием российских и белорусских ученых.


Благодарю всех инициаторов создания памятника, тех, кто выступил в поддержку его установки и всех, кто стал причастен к реализации этой идеи.

Особая благодарность Евгению Владимировичу Верхолазу, который взял на себя всё финансовое бремя по созданию, доставке и установке монумента.
